MagicInterview 1.0.3 for iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac

Version 1.0.3 brings solo practice that learns your voice, full-length briefs on the Mac and research in your language. Android is on Google Play; the Apple apps are in review.

Version 1.0.3 of MagicInterview is on Google Play for Android. The iPhone, iPad and Mac versions have been submitted to Apple's App Store review and will be available when Apple approves them.

What changed#

  • Solo practice learns your voice. When you practice alone on the phone, MagicInterview can now take a voice sample from an answer of four seconds or more that you speak while the interviewer is silent. It is turned into a numeric voice profile, never stored as a recording, and used to tell your voice from the other person's. You can delete it in Settings at any time.
  • Briefs keep their full length on the Mac. A long brief is no longer cut short.
  • Research and General in your language. Research Online, and the General project's name, speak the language of the app.
  • A research in progress shows its progress. Open a project that is being researched and you see where it is. Rate-limit, unavailable and Pro errors say what happened, and a Pro error opens the paywall.
  • Android catches up. Android has the live bar above the tabs, and Gemini Nano's own message while its model downloads, instead of Apple Intelligence's.
  • Smaller fixes. Tapping a conversation inside a project no longer crashes the iPhone app, code in answers is monospaced on Android, and swiping Edit on a project folds its role and organization into the brief like the Edit button does.
  • iPhone permission prompts in nine languages.
  • Everything from this week. 1.0.3 also carries the work of the last days: projects, Research Online, nine languages and on-device answers.

A note on analytics#

We also started recording product events on every platform: for example that an answer was requested, that research started, or that a request failed and why. They help us see what works and what breaks. They never include what a conversation says. The Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy list what is recorded and how to ask us to delete it.

Why it matters#

A copilot has to work the moment you need it. Most of this release is about being dependable where it was rough: the voice that is recognized as yours, the brief you wrote that stays whole, the app that opens in your language.

How to update#

  • Android: open MagicInterview on Google Play and update.
  • iPhone, iPad and Mac: available from the App Store once Apple approves it.
  • Web: nothing to do. The web app updates itself.
