Acceptable Use Policy

What you may and may not do with MagicInterview, including recording consent, honesty in interviews and the rules of the places you use it.

Last updated

MagicInterview is built to help you prepare and think clearly in real conversations. This policy says what you may and may not do with it. It is part of the Terms of Service.

The principle#

Use MagicInterview where assistance is allowed, with the consent of the people involved where the law or the setting requires it, and in a way you would be comfortable explaining. It does not join your call, does not impersonate you, does not bypass meeting controls and does not make decisions for you. You stay the person in the conversation.

MagicInterview listens to your microphone, and to the audio of a browser tab, window or screen you choose to share, after you start listening. Laws about recording and transcribing conversations differ by country, state and setting, and some require every participant to consent.

You are responsible for:

  • knowing the rules that apply where you and the other people are, and following them;
  • telling the other people, and getting their consent, where the law or the setting requires it;
  • stopping listening when a conversation is private, confidential or covered by a rule that does not allow it.

Interviews, exams and assessments#

Many employers, schools, certification bodies and platforms set their own rules about outside help. Some forbid any assistance during an interview, a test or an assessment. MagicInterview does not know those rules and does not decide for you.

You are responsible for reading them. Do not use MagicInterview in an interview, exam or assessment where assistance is not allowed. Do not use it to misrepresent your identity, your qualifications or your experience, or to commit fraud. Preparing beforehand, practicing out loud and researching the company are always yours to do.

What is not allowed#

You may not use the Service to:

  • break the law or someone else's rights, including privacy, confidentiality and intellectual property rights;
  • harass, threaten, defraud, deceive or discriminate against anyone, or produce content that does so;
  • record or transcribe a person who has not consented where consent is required;
  • add content you have no right to share, such as another party's confidential material that you are bound to protect;
  • generate or spread malware, spam or deceptive content;
  • access, test or probe the Service, or another person's account, without permission, or try to circumvent its limits, access controls, rate limits or paywall;
  • send automated traffic that is not part of normal use, or use the Service in a way that harms its stability for other people;
  • resell, sublicense or provide the Service to others as your own, or build a competing product from its output or interfaces;
  • use output to train models, except as the law gives you that right regardless;
  • use the Service if you are under 16.

AI assistants and automation#

If you connect an AI assistant to your MagicInterview account, you are responsible for what it does with your account and for the access you approve. Keep access to what the assistant needs, and revoke it in Settings when it is no longer needed. You may not use an automated client to get around a limit or to access data that is not your own.

Reporting#

If you see content or behavior that breaks this policy, or you find a security problem, tell us at support@magicinterview.app. For security reports, see Security.

What we may do#

If this policy is broken, we may warn you, limit features, suspend or end your account and, where the law requires, report the matter to the authorities. We will usually tell you why. We may act without notice where it is needed to protect people or the Service.
