On 28 September 2026, projects arrived in MagicInterview on the web and in the apps. A project keeps everything for one interview, meeting or client together, and the old limit of 30 conversations is gone.
What changed#
- Every conversation lives in a project. If you do not choose one, it goes in General, a project that is always there.
- A project has a brief. The organization, the role or focus, and your notes for it, written once and shared with every conversation in the project.
- A project has sources. Add the CV, job description, client brief and documents to the project and each of its conversations can use them. Conversations can still carry their own extra sources.
- A project has practice runs. Practice uses the project's brief and, since 30 September, the runs are kept with the project, beside your real conversations.
- A project has a language. From 30 September each project has its own language, and from 1 October the web app lets you set a default language for new projects.
- No conversation limit. Apps from before this release keep working, and keep the conversations they had.
- Edit when you mean to. Projects and conversations read first, and editing sits behind Edit. Since 29 September, on the phone you can swipe a project or conversation for its actions.
Why it matters#
Preparing for a job is rarely one conversation. It is a recruiter call, a technical round, a final with the hiring manager, and a pile of material that belongs to all of them. Before, every conversation started from a blank page. Now the context is written once, and every conversation, practice run and answer builds on it.
How to use it#
- Create a project for the interview, call or client, and name the organization and role.
- Add the sources that matter: your CV, the job description, a client brief, your own notes.
- Choose the project's language, the one the conversation will be held in.
- Start a conversation in the project, or practice. When it is time, MagicInterview already has the context.
- Try Research Online to add what the public web says about the other side.
Projects are in the web app and the Android app on Google Play now. The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps get them with their App Store release, which is in review.
