MagicInterview is used in moments that matter, often under pressure and often on a small screen. Being usable by as many people as possible is part of making it good. This statement describes what we do today, what we are still improving and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
Our aim#
We aim for the website and the web app to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not yet had a formal third-party audit, so this statement reflects our own review and the feedback we receive, and we do not claim full conformance.
What is in place today#
- Reduced motion. The website and the web app respect your operating system's reduced-motion setting. Animations and scroll effects are switched off or shortened.
- Reading size and speed. In the app, Settings let you change the size of the live answer's text and its reading pace. Focus mode shows only the question and the answer in large type.
- Contrast and theme. A high-contrast option is available in Settings, along with light and dark themes that follow your system.
- Keyboard and assistive technology. Controls are standard interactive elements with labels. Icon buttons have text names, dialogs are announced as dialogs, and status messages such as saving state are announced to screen readers. The sign-in dialog closes with Escape.
- Text you can read and adjust. Content on the website is real text, not images of text, and pages reflow on small screens.
- Your language. The website and the apps are available in nine languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Korean.
- Native apps. The iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac apps use the platform's native controls, so system accessibility features work with them.
- Typed and spoken. You can type a question instead of speaking it, and answers appear as text you can copy.
Areas we are still improving#
We have not yet tested every screen of every platform with every assistive technology, so some parts may fall short of WCAG 2.2 AA. The live conversation view changes continuously while a conversation is in progress, which is hard to make equally comfortable for everyone, and we are still tuning it. Documents you upload are shown as you provided them, and we cannot make them accessible if they are not. Third-party components, such as your browser's speech engine or the store's purchase screens, follow their vendors' accessibility standards.
Tell us about a barrier#
If something in MagicInterview is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Email support@magicinterview.app with Accessibility in the subject and tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We read every message, and we will reply and tell you what we can do, and by when. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact your national authority responsible for accessibility or equality.
