Connect your AI assistant to MagicInterview

An AI assistant that supports MCP can now read and add to your projects, conversations and sources, after you approve exactly what it may do.

On 28 September 2026, MagicInterview added a way to connect an AI assistant to your workspace. If your assistant supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), it can now read your projects, conversations and sources, and add to them, once you approve it.

What changed#

  • A new section in Settings, AI client access, lets an AI assistant that supports MCP read and add to your conversations and sources.
  • When an assistant asks to connect, you see a consent screen with its name and exactly what it is asking for: reading your workspace (projects, conversations, shared context and preferences), or managing it (creating, updating and deleting projects, conversations and context, and requesting coaching).
  • Read and write are separate permissions, so an assistant can be given the first without the second.
  • The connection address is magicinterview.app/mcp. Connections use OAuth, so you sign in to your own MagicInterview account to approve.
  • For clients that cannot use OAuth, you can create a connection token in Settings.
  • You can see your connections in Settings and revoke any of them at any time.

Why it matters#

Your preparation is not only inside one app. The CV in one place, the job description in another, the notes from yesterday's call in a third. Now an assistant you already use can put them where MagicInterview can use them: create a project for tomorrow's interview, attach the right sources, or pull what was said in a conversation back into your notes.

How to use it#

  1. In your assistant, add MagicInterview as a connector using the address magicinterview.app/mcp.
  2. Sign in to MagicInterview when asked and review what the assistant is requesting.
  3. Choose Approve only if you are comfortable with it. Prefer read access if you do not need the assistant to change anything.
  4. To end a connection, open Settings, find AI client access and revoke it.

An assistant that you connect can see what you let it read, and its provider's terms govern what it does with that. See the Privacy Policy, and Security for how connections are protected.
