MagicInterview is a live conversation copilot, and it lives or dies on how it feels in the moment. You will own the native experience on iPhone, iPad and Mac: speech that arrives as people talk, answers that stay still while they are read, and a calm interface that gets out of the way.
What you will do#
- Own and evolve the Mac app, written in SwiftUI: the live coach, projects and sources, the menu bar and floating answer window, App Intents and Settings.
- Work on the iPhone and iPad app and its native Swift modules, such as the on-device answer engine that uses Apple Intelligence, alongside the shared Expo codebase.
- Make live audio reliable: microphone and shared-window capture, speech recognition (including on-device models), echo handling and telling voices apart.
- Bring Apple's on-device models into the product responsibly, with sensible fallbacks to the cloud when the device cannot answer.
- Take builds through TestFlight and App Store review, and keep each release healthy.
- Make the three platforms behave as one product, with the same words, the same projects and the same account.
What we are looking for#
- Several years of shipping native iOS or macOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI, including something you owned end to end.
- Experience with real-time audio and speech: AVFoundation, Speech or on-device models, and the tricky cases of routing and permissions.
- Care for interface detail: states, motion, accessibility and text in many languages.
- Comfort working alone on a hard problem and writing down what you decided.
- Good judgment about what to build and what to leave out.
Nice to have#
- Apple Intelligence and the Foundation Models framework, SpeechTranscriber or similar on-device speech work.
- Experience with App Store submission, subscriptions and StoreKit or RevenueCat.
- React Native or Expo experience, or an interest in learning how native modules fit in.
- Fluency in a language other than English.
How we work#
Remote-first, Europe time zones, flexible hours. Small team, written decisions, small releases. You will have real ownership from the first week.
